BA boss Martin Broughton attacks US over redundant airport security,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
BA chairman Martin Broughton said measures for example forcing passengers to consider off shoes and separate checks of laptop bags were redundant and unnecessary.
His comments come as the United States is making excessive demands for that screening of airline passengers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including measures it does not require on US domestic flights,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Financial Times reported.
Mr Broughton aired his complaint at the annual conference from the UK Airport Operators Association where he said it was time other countries, such as Britain, stopped kowtowing to America's beefed-up security demands.
Australian passengers flying domestically and internationally are forced to remove laptops from bags and perhaps shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
British Airways said the report was accurate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however it didn't possess a text from the chairman's remarks.
"America does not do internally many of the things they demand that people do,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Mr Broughton was quoted as saying.
"We shouldn't stand for that. They still haven't decided if it is a laptop or it's not a laptop. There are too many layers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], too much inconsistency."
America's Transportation Security Administration did not directly respond to Mr Broughton's demands to scrap excessive measures,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
But a statement by the organisation said it worked with all international airlines to ensure passenger safety,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

As somebody who continues to be through Heathrow Airport several times,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], my experience has been that after I arrive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I invariably have to engage in an argument and among their Civil Servants,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who are convinced that I've come there to steal a job from some poor starving Brit (I've got a job thanks). Every time I leave there, I'm invariably picked "at random" to possess my hand luggage rummaged through. I use it the conveyor belt to be x-rayed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], simply to get it disappear before it comes the other part. After that it mysteriously re-appears at the far end of the type of customs officers. If they must keep doing this,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], would they've the decency to answer me after i inquire as to why my bag has suddenly disappeared,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], instead of serving as if they can't see or hear me, and spare me the tough guy impersonations when they finally do respond.

Keep in mind that many of us are paying for the incompetance of American security and military organisations. By acknowleging these failings, it's tacitly acknowledged the security already in position was sufficient and really should have stopped the attack. Many reports have pointed out the huge failings from the multiple layers of security on 9-11 whcih would have been enough to prevent the attacks if proper procedures were followed. Yet there's still a chorus from the fearful sheep of the world calling for increasingly more security be added in so that they can delude themselves that flying is 100% safe. Face the facts, if a determined person or organisation wants to reduce a plane they can. You will find rc planes that could be loaded with explosive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], homemade rockets and 1001 different ways this could be accomplished. Stripping people of their rights and dignity only hands the 'terrorists' victory on a plate. People simply need to have it through their scalp that they can die by any means of the way which trying to prevent this reality through regulation only makes the 'life' that's to be protected not worth living.

Its a SECURITY INDUSTRY for creating make money from fear at the cost of the sheep who quit freedom and liberty to a "government officer with a badge" in the mistaken belief they are SAFE,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Life includes a few risks maybe search your homes; more people die in home accidents,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Only safe strategy is to handcuff all you frightened travellers to your seats and set a a bag too deep. Weren't any hijackings on rendition flights. Oh I forgot about the crazy flight crew equipped with a control column, I'm one of these.
