Could it be Legal to Copy a DVD,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
i look for movies nowadays using the digital copies and love them so much not to mention underneath the fair use act i put several of them onto a disc - to back them up nevertheless its just for me because they occupy too much space on the hard disk -
digital copies i think could be the coming trend but sure are steep on itunes - nearly as expensive as the disc
would i would like to see may be the ability to purchase a movie online and have the ability to support it on disc - yeah like a digital copy except you can play it inside a dvd player
cases sure do take up alot of space - blank discs dont however alot of my purchases have to to do with the coverage art too
if only there might be a site enabling you to be buy the movie having the ability to put it on a blank disc - like digtal copies except no expensive - like a subscription service - or pay through the movie lets say 3.00 -5.00 per movie and up to 2 downloads should the first one is a bust
only a suggestion
if perhaps each side could meet in the middle - or in which the movie studios would get a cut in all that software on the web -i know a man in arizona who does this however i dont think his intent would be to break the law - its from the prices are just astronomical - why not have the movie studios and these software firms that develop "rippers" when i think wikiepedia calls them - coz if it is money they are after - then why don't you let the two work together - if hollywood recognizes that people get it done - try to profit themselves of the rippers or think of a ripper that belongs to them to in which the user would spend the money for studio a fee every month - for his or her titles - yeah only a thought and no i dont work with each side
why do ultimately it always comes down to money
Most people have no interest in "stealing" as the movie studios call it. If given a legitimate method of doing what they're clearly wanting to do which is copy their movie so they can watch it on their media center, PC, iphone or ipad,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then they would stick with the legal method. For all those a little tech savvy they go to the "illegal" means because that's the only choice they are given. I know a lot of companies are starting to include digital copies to their disc, but my limited experience with these, manly from Warner Brothers, leaves a great deal to be desired. The price they set is the prerogative. Due to the artist or record label having invested into the manufacture of the CD they have the exclusive to set the price of it. After all, it's their home. This might increase the risk for consumer being less likely to purchase, depending on the cost, but that's the performers business to deal with. Probably the peoples unwillingness to pay higher prices will cause them to obtain the music illegally, but is the fact that justified? I don't think so. Just because someone would rather go for any cheaper price does not warrant theft. However, the recording companies and the artists, all desire to be instant millionaires. Everyone knows that CDs/DVDs are extremely inexpensive to create. AOL proved that by giving them in the mail to EVERYONE! Plasma TVs were $5K when they came out, now you can buy them for alongside nothing. CD/DVD prices haven't dropped as production costs dropped because the artists and record/film companies have just added more to learn margins. Here, Wal-Mart is just about the largest retailer ever by selling LOW as well as in mass amounts. When the cost per CD/DVD were reduced to an affordable price. say $5.95,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], instead of the $19.95 they ask. Within an economy where entertainment budget gets eaten up horribly fast (just take your children towards the ballgame and see) and the cost of cable television skyrockets,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], people prefer to download a piece than pay full price. Why are you able to visit a discount store and buy a DVD for $5.00. It's the same movie which was $19.95 a year ago. production costs didn't change. however the production company found they weren't selling anymore at the high price so, wow, amazingly it comes down. (Buyers must avoid buying the NEW movie and wait til it hits the underside price.)
Software manufacturers also complain about lost revenue due to copying. but don't forget,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if you buy a program for a huge price,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and wish to use it each of your home computers, they are saying you're stealing from them. they want to charge you an inflated price for every of your computers. Here again,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if software packages were priced at $19.95, instead of Four times that amount, people wouldn't download pirated versions. (Some programs are priced at astronomical dollar amounts.) There are countries and firms now choosing OPEN SOURCE software to maintain costs down. (I'd a lot like to determine Bill gates at the Goodwill store only once!)
The entire theme here seems to be. If you want people to stop downloading media and software, then conclude a price that is fair towards the consumer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and also the consumer could be more apt to buy it.
Unfortunately solution is always too simple for corporate to get.
the reply to the worries of the studio's regarding profit is so simple that it's a wonder it has not been enacted:
Charge 1.00 for any movie plus shipping. any movie. with those prices, the customer would collect vast numbers. instead of rent. rather than copy. instead of borrow. the studio's would reap larger profits as (during my estimation) they would sell at least Ten times as many films as they do now. renting would be a subject put to rest. retailers could charge a profit to handle (similar to a bag of chips) and everyone would have large collections.
as it is, the plastic coating on discs is really inadequate you don't reach handle the disc many times before it dies of scratches. even dragging your finger as softly as you can manage across a disc will leave a scratch in the surface of your skin. this really is intentional on the part of the studios. they specify discs which will supply the shortest life possible.
give the consumer a chance. use a better disc, then sell them cheap enough that everyone will buy and there won't be any incentive to steal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], borrow, rent or copy.
alternately, they could just charge about 200million per disc and only sell one, and never worry about copying. this method is as stupid as charging so much for disc that copy becomes inevitable.
by the way,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the cracks for hd discs were out per week before the hd discs were released. it seems that the employees of the encryption providers couldn't resist smashing the system these were used to create.
